I sit here typing this with a head full of big curls that have been growing in volume and health like no tomorrow. As some of you may know, I’ve been transitioning into the cruelty-free beauty world–including haircare, makeup and skincare. The transition has been a process, and still is, but I am so very proud of making this change. It is an educational journey that truly makes you more self-aware about the products + brands you are purchasing and supporting.
Throughout my search for cruelty-free products that my skin and hair love I have discovered brands that put so much care into what they create and how it impacts the world. My cruelty-free collection has continued to grow with these additions and I am so excited to share them with you! Today’s products are all curly hair focused (shout out to my curly haired gals) and know how to treat these sensitive, and often mind of its own locks. Whether you’re on the search for new curly hair brands or your curls need or a little extra lovin’ these products may just be what you need.
Happy October! This month always gets me excited because fall feels are in full swing. Hello pumpkin spice goodies, warm knits, Halloween movies and moments spent in the crisp chill outdoors and home cozied up with your favorites.
To be honest, I love being at home, especially since having moved into the red door. There’s a new sort of comfort and peace that you find in your first place. It all feels refreshing and free as you continue to create within a space that is all your own. One of my favorite parts of it is decorating every inch into something that speaks to you. Personalizing my home to be a place that I feel comfortable and creative within has inspired me in so many ways. I believe that it is so important to have a space that can do that for you–allow you to flourish within your own.
Since my last post life has been a series of happenings–I mean when isn’t it that? But recently it has been one thing after another non-stop. I say this as I’m typing right before I head out for a dentist appointment. So, you can say life has been much more busy than usual. With settling into the red door, making time for family + friends, working and maintaining our new household, while nurturing our own selves, it’s been an experience balancing it all. I can only imagine how it would be with lil babes or even a dog thrown into the mix. *No that isn’t a hint to anything happening any time soon, haha*
It’s been about 2.5 weeks since Jake and I moved into our place that I have nicknamed, “The Red Door.” Moments have been spent unpacking boxes, making trips to stores, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, cooking and settling into this humble abode. I am truly in love with this open, airy gem and each day we are here it becomes more of a home filled with memories.
If you’ve peeped the title there’s a new series in town on Creatively Victoria called “F L O U R I SH” that’ll be centered on leaving the nest and living on your own. My boyfriend, Jake and I made it a summer goal to move-in together and we found a place! During our rather short process (i.e. saw it on Sunday, applied on Monday, had an interview on Tuesday and got offered it that night) I wanted to share our first home journey–from finding the right place to decorating it and utilizing your space. Despite how quickly we scored our first home, we were avidly preparing + looking for quite a few months, and learned some tips that definitely helped us in our search. I’ll be sharing all of these to help you on your own home journey if you’re ready to leave the coop.
