December has flown by and with Christmas making its way to us this Sunday prepping for it, while planning for NYE, working and staying on top of personal goals has been a bit of a whirlwind. The holiday season is always hectic, but the cozy and lovable vibes in the air seem to get everyone every time. By now I hope you have gathered all of your Christmas gifts and just have gift wrapping to cross off your lists. The majority of my gifts are all stacked up in the corner of my room like a mountain as I type this, just waiting to be wrapped in snowflakes, plaid and ribbons.
Luckily, I’ve been able to wrap a few this week and while doing so I created a quick, cutesy DIY project to add a personal touch to any gift you’re wrapping. Learn how you can make DIY holiday gift tags to add a finishing touch for the gifts you’re giving this year. Details down below!
What you’ll need:
– Card Stock
– Yarn or ribbon
– Metallic paint
– Small dish for water
– Circular item to trace
Create a gift tag design of your choice! I went for the classic shape along with triangles to symbolize Christmas trees and circles to symbolize the decor on them. Once you have your initial shape traced onto a piece of card stock, just cut it out and use it as your tracer for the rest of your gift tags. You can even use household items to trace shapes as well—I used my Best Damn Beauty Lip Mask to trace the Christmas circles.
Grab a small dish of water, paint brushes and metallic paint of your choice and start painting the gift tags you want. I ended up painting every other gift tag to pair with a plain one that I would write on.
Once the paint has dried you can write on the gift tags or pair them with a plain one like I did. I wrote on my plain ones and added the metallic ones as a detail next to them.
Cut your string of choice and tape one end on the back of your gift tags and the other end on the gifts. Tada! A finishing touch to your gifts that is just a bit personal since it was made from you.
Let me know if any of you try this DIY for the holidays. I would love to see your creations!
Happy holidays, loves. I hope you have a wonderful time with your loved ones.
Lots of Love, Victoria.
