I’ve been on such a skin care craze lately, as per my previous post detailing my updated skin care routine. Next to my Spin for Perfect Skin face and body brush and Mario Badescu products, I have become absolutely hooked to South Korean beauty brand, Tony Moly.
Tony Moly was founded in 2008, and its name translates to “stylish packaging.” After taking just a glance at their products, it’s safe to say that translation reigns true. From their fresh food mask sheets that picture adorable doodles to their innovative and quirky packaging found with their other products. Now, Tony Moly isn’t just a brand that has products made with cute packaging—within each product’s formula, ethical and organic ingredients are used that your skin will happily soak up.
I definitely recommend to first try out Tony Moly’s fresh food mask sheets if you’re new to this brand. Each mask is unique, nourishing and provides your skin with beneficial elements, leaving it with stellar results. The mask sheets I believe are a fun and easy way to try new ingredients that you’ve never used before—or use ingredients that you have tried before in a whole new way. Take their Tea Tree Mask Sheet for instance; I’ve used tea tree based products in the past, but this mask sheet made my skin reap the benefits of the ingredient more than ever before, all within 30 minutes.
All you have to do when using one of these mask sheets is wet your face with water, gently remove the mask from its packaging, lay it flat against your face and make sure it lines up with your features, then set a timer for 30 minutes. You’re skin will immediattely feel like its being refreshed not only within that time span, but afterwards as well. Once the 30 minutes is up, I remove the mask sheet and then just softly pat the rest of the oil into my skin. I let it sit there and allow my skin to soak up the rest of it, leaving it hydrated, brighter and incredibly soft.
If you’re interested in trying Tony Moly’s products, including their mask sheets yourself, you can purchase them on Tony Moly’s site, your local Ulta, Sephora and Urban Outfitters, or their sites as well.
If you’ve tried Tony Moly before please share your thoughts below! Have any questions regarding this brand? Feel free to mention them as well and I’d be happy to answer them.
My skin care routine has been through so many changes ever since I reached by 20’s—much like my skin itself. When I was a teenager, my skin was prone to minor breakouts and was just slightly oily. However, it seemed that as soon as I turned 20, my skin took on a whole new change. It became much more oily than I was ever used to, which led me to trying a bucket load of products to try and maintain it. Fast forward to now, my 23-year-old skin, and it’s a combination of a handful of aspects. My nose and T-zone are the areas on my face that are most prone to oil buildup, while my cheeks, chin and upper brow bone area tend to have dry spots from time to time. My skin has also become very sensitive, causing breakouts to appear on my cheeks over anything it doesn’t agree with; some of this includes scented moisturizers and skin care products with a high percentage of glycolic acid.
Talk about a lot to keep up with, right? But what I’ve learned is that as you grow over the years, so does your skin, and in turn your skin care routine needs to as well in order to give your skin exactly what it needs. After some trial and error, my skin has been feeling refreshed, revitalized and absolutely nourished as of late—all thanks to my skin care routine, which is filled with new and oldie, yet goodie products I am smitten with. Don’t worry. I’m not keeping it a secret to how my skin is feeling amazing, but rather sharing it with all of you in hopes to help anyone that is going through skin changes like I experienced. So, let’s get into all the details shall we?
I’ll start off with the little gadget I recently purchased that has really turned around my skin’s appearance. The Spin for Perfect Skin face and body brush by Vanity Planet has become a real life changer. I first became introduced to this brush from Simply_Kenna on YouTube, and then a handful of other YouTubers and bloggers afterwards who raved about the after effects it left them with. I’ve always been curious about adding a powered brush to my skin care routine, including the Clarisonic, but Vanity Planet’s “amazing taste with minimal investment” aesthetic definitely sold me—not to mention, their products are cruelty-free as well, which is a number one yes in my beauty book. After spotting Casey Leigh’s incredible deal (a bargain for $30 when it usually retails for $100) on her blog, The Wiegands, I quickly purchased my own brush and have been happy with it ever since I first turned it on.
The Spin for Perfect Skin face and body brush comes with four brushes: a cleansing, body, exfoliating brush and pumice stone—each designed to be soft, gentle and effective on your skin. I use mine in the morning and evening to really amp up my skin care routine.
In the morning all I do is wet my face and the cleansing brush, add two pumps of the Olay Refreshing Gel Cleanser (at night I use the Cetaphil Daily Cleanser) directly onto the brush, place it on my skin, turn it on and move it in light circular motions over my face. Once my skin is fully cleansed, I just shut the brush off and rinse my face. If I need to exfoliate, I do it in the morning, and use either the St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub + Mask or Bioré Charcoal Pore Minimizer (which I use only twice a week). I switch the cleansing brush with the exfoliating one and just repeat the same steps. When my skin is all squeaky clean, I make sure to wash my brushes with soap and lukewarm water, then let them air dry until it’s time to use them again at night.
I immediately follow-up with the Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner, by just soaking a cotton ball and brushing it over my skin, a few spritzs of the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater and then a moisturizer (lately I’ve been using the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion). Then tada! I’m left with skin that’s glowing, hydrated and incredibly fresh throughout the day. I’ve been sticking to this routine for the past couple of weeks, and my skin has shown a noticeable difference. It’s much more firm, my breakouts are lessening, pores have shrunk in size, and my skin’s glow has definitely become brighter. If you’re on the lookout for new products, or a brush, I definitely recommend all of the above.
Let me know if ya’ll have any questions about the products I mentioned. If you want to get your hands on some of your own, just click the links up above. Happy shopping, gals.
How has your skin and skin care routine changed over the years?
It’s safe to say that I’m a flower lover—true and through. I mean, just take a look at my Instagram to get a better picture of my affection for anything floral. I do believe it has something to do with the romantic vibes I am always all over. So, when I spotted this off-the-shoulder blouse, while doing a little online shopping, I already knew that I needed to add it to my cart; in it went, and well, the rest is history as you see. I love how effortless and soft this blouse is, and I wanted to keep the styling of it simple and sweet.
To keep the romance in the air I styled my hair into milkmaid braids, slipped into my favorite high-waisted jeans and zipped up my go-to boots for a look that I immediately was smitten with. For some reason these photos remind me of Mexico fashion in the 1900s-1950s, (peep the photos I inserted for some inspo), including the iconic looks of Frida Kahlo and Lupe Velez. These photos also made me think of one of my other idols being, Selena Quintanilla.
You can’t blame me for her song, “Como La Flor” popping into my head soon after; with that thought, I knew that all of this inspiration was the perfect fit for my latest style post.

How do your idols inspire you? Is it through their style, craft or pure essence?
Welcome to my room! Well, as close as you can get to it via the internet. Home decor is one of my many interests and I’ve been an avid Pinner for years in regards to anything room related. After oohing and ahhing over other people’s rooms, I decided to share my bedroom in the hopes to inspire others, or even give you ideas on how to decorate your own bedroom.
I believe your room should fully represent your individual style—from the bedsheets to the little trinkets you have lying around. It should be a creative space that inspires you to get work done, while also being an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the world. I’m all about the cozy life, soft tones and empowering messages when it comes to my room. I wanted to represent all of my passions (including fashion, beauty, reading, art and animals) in its decor. What I created is this…

I’m sharing the beauty products that I have been loving non-stop over the past month with you all today. From purple hues to makeup enhancers, these products have become must-haves for me on almost everyday of the week.
I recently decided to give the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer a try, and boy, am I in love. Not only does this bronzer smell like chocolate, but it also adds the perfect amount of warmth to my face when I need it. It’s super blendable and buildable making it perfect to use for day-to-night looks. I love using this bronzer for contouring, no matter if I’m going for a chiseled or soft application.
The NYX Tango With Bronzing Powder in Shimmering Light and Deep Tan is a golden dream come true. I’ve been using this duo to not only bronze up my complexion, but as a highlight as well since there is a shimmery component within its formula. And when it comes to lasting all day, the NYX Tango With Bronzing Powder will have your skin glowing like no tomorrow.
Speaking of having your makeup lasting all day, I have been blown away with the Wet n’ Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray. I picked this little beauty baby up at a local Target, after being a dedicated fan to e.l.f’s Makeup Mist and Set. I tested this makeup setting spray out for a wedding and was incredibly happy with how fresh it kept my makeup for over 8 hours! All I did was spritz the formula a couple of times onto my face after applying my makeup and then I was set for the rest of the day. I totally recommend this for anyone in the market for an affordable and high-quality makeup setting spray.
My under eye area has been bright and right with the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer and the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. I’ve used Maybelline concealers ever since I was in high school, and the creamy formula in this one meets my expectations by far. It doesn’t crease much and is very easy to blend; set with the Laura Mercier powder on top and your dark under eyes will have gone to the light side in no time.
Ever since the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara was released I’ve been more than intrigued. Like the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, I finally caved to see just what all the hype was with this mascara. I am such a fan of mascaras that give you full lashes which don’t appear spidery, but instead gives them an almost feathery effect. This mascara does just that, and it reminds me so much of the L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara which I have loved for years. The Better Than Sex Mascara just takes it up a notch!
I’m not one to do eye looks on the regular, but when I do I tend to gravitate towards neutral eye shadows that have more than one hue within them. H&M’s beauty line has quickly become one of my favorites for the quality and detail found within each product’s make. H&M’s eye shadow in Creamy Almond has been my go-to shade as of late. All I do is apply it with Wet n’ Wild’s eyeshadow brush all over my lid and blend it out to show off all the beautiful brown, golden tones within its silky formula.
As for the Wet n’ Wild brush, if you haven’t heard about this drugstore brush line than I am happy to let you in on the know! Wet n’ Wild released a makeup brush line that is cruelty-free, vegan, incredibly soft and sold at an amazing price. Currently, many of the brushes are out of stock, but Wet n’ Wild has announced that they will be restocked soon. Get ready to grab them when you can!
If you know me, you know I am a ColourPop fanatic. Anything that this beautiful beauty brand releases is absolutely phenomenal. So, when the brand announced it would be coming out with brow products I of course, ordered them the morning they were released. I received the Brow Pencil and Brow Colour in Bangin’ Brunette. I’m not crazy about filling in my brows with creme gel formulas, but the Brow Colour is something I’ve been rather enjoying for full face makeup looks. For a more everyday brow though, that I have totally fallen head over heels for, the Brow Pencil is flawless. I love filling in my brows with the creamy pencil formula and then blending it out for a softer appearance with the spoolie on the end. My brows stay “on fleek” 24/7 with this brow product.
Lippies are my beauty guilty pleasure. I always love adding them to my collection, even if I am running out of storage space! The NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment, ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Solow and ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Tansy have been on rotation in my makeup bag. The NYX Lingerie lippie is a beautiful liquid-matte-formula that makes wearing nude hues for anyone easy as pie. Embellishment is a mesmerizing, soft mauve color that I am smitten with.
Lately, I’ve been also wanting to step outside my comfort zone when it comes to my lippie selection. This includes choosing more brown hued lippies that I have never gone for before. ColourPop’s lip products in Solow and Tansy has made my fear of going for brown colors a thing of the past. All I need is one swipe of either one and I’m set.

For manis and pedis, Deborah Lippmann’s new Spring 2016 collections have been my go-to for their bright, fun colors. Over the month of March I reached for All Day Sucker, a pastel lavender with pink tones, as my signature color.
